Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, that is, it must be introduced with food because the body is not able to produce it. In addition to being a key amino acid in protein synthesis, tryptophan is the starting point for the synthesis of certain biological substances, such as serotonin and melatonin.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, also known as “good mood hormone”; melatonin, on the other hand, is very important in regulating the sleep-wake cycle. Low levels of tryptophan are associated, in humans and in several animal species, including horse, with insomnia, depression and other mood issues, such as irritability and aggression.
In contrast, high levels of tryptophan, and therefore serotonin, reduce states of fear and stress. It is well known that in some horses, more than in others, some potentially stressful situations, such as competitions or transport, can induce excitatory states, decreased concentration, increased aggression. Whenever it is necessary to have a serene horse, well prepared for work and alert, B-Kalm, based on tryptophan, is the ideal solution.
B-Kalm is a product in dough packaged in a practical syringe tube that allows quick and easy administration before stressful events. The calming and soothing effect of B-Kalm is carried out in a short time, but without affecting the attention of the horse and therefore without reducing its concentration at work, thus avoiding a negative impact on the performances.
How to use it
