Bulges to the limbs of the horse, or edemas, usually occur in the vicinity of a joint district (knee, knot or phalanx) or tendon (flexor tendons on the back surface of the limb) and are commonly due to an abnormal accumulation of fluid in tissues. The normal turre of the tissues depends on a perfect balance between the local water flow and flow. In paraphysiological or pathological conditions (trauma), when such balance is disturbed, you can have stagnation of fluid in the tissue interstitial with increased overall amount of the liquid itself and then you have swelling. Ice-Tight explains its absorbent and osudating activity, compared to the liquids accumulated at the tissue level, thanks to the presence of substances such as Caolino and Bentonite that induce the skin to expel such liquids while forming a protective layer that envelops and protects the entire limb from external agents. The glycerin contained in Ice-Tight also produces a hemollient effect in the presence of any tendon-level contractions.
Ice-Tight thanks to its contents in Aloe Vera also performs an important refreshing, defatigater and analgesic action that give immediate relief to the horse after work. Ice-Tight also contains Boric Acid that is very useful in cases of hoof tip wounds, where it prevents the development of germs (fungi or bacteria) that cause infections to the sole and the fetus. Boric Acid is also useful in the cases of so-called “sufferings” where, by softening the sole, it promotes the elimination of any liquid collection.
USO MODE Remove dirt or any dressings at the level of the part to be treated, then apply a layer of about 6 mm of Ice-Tight on the limb(s) affected by swelling or trauma. Cover everything with a plastic or oiled paper film, in order to promote maximum transudation of the treated part, and proceed with a normal resting bandage. For application in cases of stab or stab wounds, model the right amount of Ice-Tight under the sole of the horse and allow it to remain by applying a suitable bandage. It is easily removed with water.
